Welcome to B.R.A.V.E. Human Leadership and the Neuroscience
In this foundational module, you'll be introduced to the heart of B.R.A.V.E. Human Leadership — a framework rooted in fostering deeper human connection through Belonging, Resilience, Authenticity, Vulnerability, and Empathy. We'll explore the neuroscience behind relational leadership, uncovering how the brain responds to connection, trust, and psychological safety. Understanding these insights empowers you to create environments where people feel seen, valued, and supported — essential ingredients for strong teams and impactful leadership. Belonging
In an epidemic of loneliness, belonging is the answer. Along with its significance as a basic human need around being accepted and included, Belonging is also good for business. Leaders who have a strong vision, mission, and purpose foster a culture of belonging where instead of people trying desperately to fit in, they are able to fully show up as themselves.

Resilience
Resilient leaders show up when they need to show up. They advance despite adversity. A resilient leader is able to adapt well in the face of adversity, trauma, tragedy, threat, or significant sources of stress and springs back into shape to be whole again. These leaders have the innate ability to fall down and find a way to get back up. Tying resilience to trust, belonging, and engagement is a leader’s job, not just to hone this skill set but also to teach their teams how to be resilient.

Authenticity
Authenticity is the alignment of your values and your actions. An authentic leader is one who’s behaviors, practices, and skills, reflects their framing, character, and alignment. Authentic leaders are self-aware, mission and purpose driven, focus on the long-term vision, and lead with their heart.

Vulnerability
Vulnerability is the courage to leverage emotional intelligence to open doors to transparency, innovation, and connection. It’s about being fully human. Vulnerable leaders understand the investment in psychological safety and allow others to utilize the power of relationships to build trust, open up, and show people who they are.

Empathy
Empathy is the ability to understand and feel the pain of another and not rush to “fix it” until they are truly ready. Empathetic leadership is a mindset of both embracing strengths first and coaching weaknesses. Employing true empathy breeds inclusivity and innovation and lessens reactivity and stress/depression/anxiety.
