~ Needle felted Wooden Heart ~

A lovely heart combination of needle felting and woodwork .....

This loving heart measuring approx 8mm in height, and 65mm across its widest point, is threaded through with a deep red organza ribbon and wooden bead.
Whilst the outside is pyrographed wood, the inside is a red Corriedale and Merino wool heart, beautifully needle felted.

Each of my carefully crafted wooden hearts are drawn onto birch faced plywood, wood burnt (using my special pyrography tool, which as you can imagine gets incredibly hot!), painstakingly fretsawed, sanded, then treated with two coats of premium tung oil.

My work is crafted with a great deal of love and infinite patience, and as such is always beautifully packed.

Needlefelting, a wonderfully expressive medium - involves stabbing wool tops (seemingly forever) over and over again with a dangerously sharp specially designed metal needle to form shapes. I often describe it as something akin to pressing candyfloss between your fingertips!
