Nature-Inspired Acrylic Paintings

U.S-based artist, David Robinson, leaves little to the imagination through his stunningly-visual, naturally-immersive acrylic paintings. His ability to capture the essence of night, through a mixture of light and dark tones, is a feat to be marveled at by anyone who comes into contact with his work. His paintings draw inspiration from the scenic 'Roanoke Valley' located at the foot hills of Blue Ridge Mountains - a stones-throw from where he resides in Virginia.

The self-taught spends hours meticulously depicting his perception of the world with a brush in his hand. His interprets nature as a series of contrasts - organisms tall and short, colors vibrant and gloomy. He has a taste for color combinations like maroon and gold, and blue and grey. He creates a whole new world through his art, a world of luscious landscapes sparsely inhabited by the animal kingdom. The real beauty of his work is in the details - every line is painted with precision and explores depth. His work creates the illusion of staring out of the window of a house that overlooks a vast, expanse of untouched land - the experience is almost cinematic.

He initially had no intention of monetising his craft, but after receiving such warm praise and encouragement from his wife, he decided to pursue a career as an artist. He developed a passion for painting in high school but decided not to continue it through college, opting instead to study Criminal Justice. He spent the next few years as a graduate, working for an insurance company, but realised that his true calling was to create artwork.

David's work has been showcased in many shows across America, as well as entering the homes of many people who've fallen in love with his lifelike renditions of the great outdoors. He and his wife host their own event for artists in Virginia, fittingly-called "Unknown Artist Show" for its purpose of providing local artists with exposure. They also run a silent auction of items donated by individuals and businesses, with the proceeds going to charities that support autistic children.
